Technical resources

Practical information for evaluating an inspection or test project.

Use this area to understand the technologies, project process and support questions that usually come before a production system is specified. The aim is to help engineering and quality teams frame the problem clearly before discussing hardware.

VISION

2D vs 3D vs Deep Learning

Use 2D when stable visual contrast solves the problem, 3D when height or profile matters, and deep learning when the defect is variable or difficult to describe with fixed rules.

PACKAGING

How corrugated-board defects can be inspected

Reference comparison is useful for print, colour, dimensions and identity; inline cameras and controlled lighting are suited to process, bonding and glue-related defects.

ELECTRONICS

PCB functional testing in production

A dedicated fixture can stimulate board inputs, measure outputs and automate a repeatable sequence around the electrical behaviour that actually matters.

PROJECT

What to prepare for an inspection feasibility review

Good/bad samples, line speed, available space, acceptance criteria, interfaces and traceability needs are more useful than choosing a camera or sensor in advance.

Start with the application

Technical resources are useful, but the real product and failure mode still drive the decision.

Two production lines can use similar cameras or test hardware and still need very different engineering. Product presentation, acceptable variation, cycle time, operator workflow, existing PLC interfaces and traceability requirements all affect the final architecture. When the application is not obvious, send the practical problem rather than trying to choose a technology first.
