Find the right inspection or test approach.
Start with the production problem rather than a technology name. Answer four practical questions and we will point you towards the most relevant MCM capability.
What are you trying to verify?
How consistent is the defect?
Do you need a measurement in depth?
What should happen after the check?
Machine Vision & Quality Control
A rules-based 2D inspection is often the most efficient place to start for visible, repeatable defects.
A recommendation is a starting point, not a substitute for testing your real product.
Industrial inspection projects are rarely decided by one specification. Surface finish, part presentation, line speed, tolerance, available space, lighting conditions and the cost of a false reject can all change the most sensible architecture. MCM therefore uses this tool to help you navigate the options, then validates the approach against real samples and production constraints.
For repeatable visible checks, a conventional 2D vision system can be fast and robust. When height, profile or deformation is critical, 3D sensing may provide the missing information. Deep learning becomes useful when acceptable and defective products vary in ways that are difficult to describe with fixed rules. Electrical, communication or PCB validation requires a test architecture rather than a camera-only solution. In many projects, the final system combines more than one of these methods.
